Katelyn Stark

Executive Editor


Katelyn is the Founder and President of Stark Contrast Editing and has been freelance editing since 2009, acquiring several authors and working on an array of genres, including women’s fiction, historical fiction, young adult and middle grades, mystery, and thrillers.

Katelyn is a former associate of a New York City based literary agency, where she evaluated manuscripts, worked directly with authors in the editing and revision process, and sold books to publishing houses. Her writing has been published in literary reviews, magazines, and journals. She has worked for multiple start-up editing companies and has worked directly with over 100 authors.

With her intimate knowledge of the publishing industry, previous publications, education, and overall love for books, she can bring a new edge to your manuscript to bring it to a standard fit for today’s competitive publishing world.

Nikki Roberti Miller

Query Editor


Nikki Roberti Miller is a professional journalist and marketer with more than ten years of published writing and editing experience. She currently works full-time writing feature articles and marketing copy at an international relief non-profit, while also freelancing for various magazines and sites such as WeTV, Engagement 101, ClassPass, and NBC’s She was also the founder and editor-in-chief of REALITY Check Girl Magazine, which was featured in the Washington Post online.

As a writer, she is a young adult author represented by Suzie Townsend and Jess Dallow of New Leaf Literary. She is also a seven-time award winning playwright with her short pieces performed around the country, including The Kennedy Center in D.C.

Emily Herring Dunn

Community Editor


Emily Herring Dunn is a professional freelancer with more than six years working as a writer and editor. She provides insight from the industry and gives help to authors through her posts on Stark Contrast Editing’s blog.  Working from home gives her the opportunity to pursue her passion while taking care of what matters most in life: her husband and two sons. With a passion for writing about motherhood and being a modern wife, she runs her own blog, The Newfangled Housewife, which has been featured on sites such as Shutterfly and HuffPost.

 As a novelist, Emily writes young adult historical fiction immersed in eras with challenges and adventures even modern day teens can relate to. She is represented by Jessica Schmeidler of Golden Wheat Literary
